(Super II Frame)
The
508PMS Connector Block is a high density, front
facing block designed for installation on the
single-sided Super II protector frame. The block is
equipped with bottom hinge pins that permit the
block to be swung down to facilitate access to the
wire wrap pins, The 508PMS hinge feature provides
front access for all block functions. Outside plant
and exchange cable terminations, protector module
administration, and test field access are all
accomplished conveniently due to the accessibility
of the entire block. |

High rib,
egg crate style wire troughs placed over each five
rows of pins on the protector module field side of
the block, protect operating personnel, guide the
protector module into position, and protect the
terminal pins when the protector modules are
removed.
The block
accommodates plug-in protector modules for high
voltage and sneak current protection. It has
provisions for test access, via integral test
points in each protector module, in either bridged
or look-out mode. The protector module ground pin
makes contact, via the ground wrap pins accept two
standard wire wrap connections of 22 to 26 AWG
wire.
High
Density Mounting
The 508PMS Connector Block is a 100 pair, high
density block providing termination capacity for
100 outside plant and 100 associated tie-cable
pairs.
Variety
of Protection
The 508PMS Connector Block uses Porta Systems
single-pin Protector Module. The block can utilize
solid state, carbon, gas tube or multi-gas tube
module types.
Module
Detent Feature
The protector modules may be partially extracted to
a detent position. In this position, the outside
plant pair is disconnected from the exchange tie
cable field; however, the module continues to supply
protection to the outside plant pair.
Test
Field
Individual test cords are available for testing and
fault locating via the integrated test points built
into the protector modules.

Low
Noise
The block to protector contact design provides an
exceptionally good electrical connection. The
contacts are well protected and will maintain their
outstanding contact low noise characteristics over
the several decade life of the blocks.
Universal
Mounting
The 508PMS Connector Block is equipped with
universal hinged mounting pins specifically
designed to fit the Super 11 Frame. The block
secures with two screws and washers which are
removed when block rotates on the hinges.
Replaceable
Pins
The 508PMS Connector Block terminal pins are field
replaceable.
Stubbing
The 508PMS Connector Block is normally factory
stubbed with outside plant cable to the rear of the
block, but is also available unstubbed. Factory
stubbing consists of 101 pairs of 22 or 24 AWG
cable, divided into 25-pair color coded binder groups and one spare pair.
