High Density Mounting
The block terminates up to 100 outside cable pairs and occupies only 9 inches (22.8 cm) of
vertical space when mounted on a conventional type distribution frame. Intervertical
workspace when mounted on 8 inch (20.3 cm) verticals is 4.26 inches (10.8 cm). The block
protrudes from its mounting screws 5.30 inches (13.2 cm) and does not protrude beyond the
ladder guard on most conventional MDFS.
Variety of Protection
A variety of compatible protector modules are available. These include solid state, gas
tube or Porta Systems exclusive radial carbon. Each are available with or without heat
coils (for sneak current protection). Special purpose modules are also available.
Module Detent Features
The protector modules may be partially extracted to a "detent" position. In this
position the outside pair is disconnected from the line equipment jumper
field; however,
the module continues to furnish protection.
Designation Area
Ample designation area is provided for cable numbers and pair count. The block itself is
screened for easy pair and lead identification

Test Field
The test points are located in the cap
of the protector modules and may be accessed by either an accessory single pair test cord
or by an accessory test shoe which allows access to 50 modules (pairs) at a time
Low Noise
Block to protector contact design provides exceptionally good electrical connection. The
contacts are well-protected and will maintain their outstanding contact low noise
characteristics over the several decade life of the blocks.
Universal Mounting
The block is equipped with a universal mounting bracket and will fit the hole mounting
pattern on most frames. Adapter strips are available for special requirements.
Replaceable Pins
All wire wrap pins on the block are field replaceable.
Stubbing
The block is available with or without a factory pre-attached cable stub. Specify 22 or 24
AWG cable and length up or down or "none" when ordering.
