The 503P Connector
Block features front access for all functions of block-jumper administration,
protector module administration, test field access, and OSP cable termination (optional).
The block is designed to terminate outside cable pairs (or exchange equipment) on a main
distribution frame, The 503P accommodates Porta Systems' protector
modules. |

High Density Mounting
The block terminates 100 pairs and
occupies 11.3 inches (28.7 cm) of vertical space. The width of the block is 4.3 inches
(11 cm) providing for 3.7 inches (9.4 cm) of inter-vertical workspace on a frame with 8
inch (20.3 cm) center verticals. Protrusion into the aisle, with modules, is only 4.19
inches (10.6 cm) from the mounting screws.
Module Detent Feature
The protector modules may be partially extracted to a "detent" position. In this position the outside pair is
disconnected from the exchange equipment jumper field: however, the modules continue to
furnish protection.
Designation Area
Ample designation area is provided for
cable numbers and pair count. The block itself is screened for easy pair and lead
identification.

Universal Mounting
The block is equipped with a universal
mounting bracket and will fit the hole mounting pattern on most frames. Adapter strips are
available for special requirements.
Stubbing
Outside cable pairs may be field stubbed
to the rear of the block or to the front. The block is also available factory stubbed with
22 AWG or 24 AWG cable. Specify rear or front stubbing, gauge, cable length or
"none" when ordering.
